ShineHer Empower Girls in Uganda with Sanitary pads My Name is Mugalu Asiat I am a 26-year-old woman from Uganda, now living in Switzerland. I came here 4 years ago during a difficult time in my life. After going through the asylum process, I integrated into Swiss life and completed an 8-month internship working with children. I now work full-time (100%) in childcare. Even with my small income, I have been sending money back to my home village in Butambala, Uganda, to help young girls buy sanitary pads. I do this from my heart, because I know the pain of having your period and not having any pads missing school, feeling shame, and suffering in silence. Why I Started This Too many girls in Butambala miss school every month because they can't afford basic sanitary products. Some even use rags or leaves. I believe no girl should feel ashamed of her body or lose education because of a natural cycle. This started with just me helping a few girls with the little I have — but now I want to grow this into a real project to help even more children. Our Goals Current Support: Sanitary Pads: Providing reusable or disposable pads so girls can attend school with confidence. School Supplies: Distributing pens, books, and learning materials. Girls’ Underwear: Ensuring comfort, hygiene, and dignity. Future Vision: Build a ShineHer Center for menstrual health education and workshops. Launch a local pad-making project to create jobs and sustainable access. Provide scholarships for bright girls from low-income families. Expand health education and women empowerment programs in the community. How You Can Help Donate: Even 1 franc, euro, or dollar can help buy pads for a girl. Support Sustainable Growth: Help us build a small, long-term project. Share Our Story: Spread the word to your network to amplify our impact. I will send updates and photos so everyone can see the difference your support makes. Thank You This is more than a projectit’ s a dream born from pain,
